The music education community has rallied behind the effort to save the Lowell Mason House. To that end the National Association of Music Educators (MENC) provided the opportunity for the Foundation to participate at Music Education Week in Washington, D.C. earlier this summer. The MENC provided free exhibit space for the Foundation to raise both funds and awareness of the effort. In addition the MENC provided the opportunity to address their National Assembly (Pictured below).
The MENC is among the world's largest arts education organizations. It marked its centennial in 2007 as the only association that addresses all aspects of music education. Through membership of more than 75,000 active, retired, and preservice music teachers, and with 60,000 honor students and supporters, MENC serves millions of students nationwide through activities at all teaching levels, from preschool to graduate school.
